Next weekend-- the first weekend in December-- The Drive-By Nativity Scene at church (Oak Park Christian Church)-- so excited. Last year it even got some news coverage, so that's pretty awesome. Also is Christmas Celebration at First Baptist Church in SLO! The only one I go to, and SO SO worth it :)
Then the following weekend is Disneyland. Thankfully for a friend who works there is my free admission to California Adventure. So now working on getting into Disneyland--cheap! Free lodging, just need to get dirt cheap admission to one expensive park... did you know it is $92 a day for So. California residents to get a park hopper pass. By golly.... but my favorite time to go with fireworks, and Christmas lights, and the Christmas Parade. The group is going so that is even more awesome-- Amanda, Scott, Kim, Kristi, Brian (you know the party don't start unless Mr. Jost is in attendance), me, Kim and Scott's family, maybe Jason, Maddie will also be down for graduation from Hope with Nathan, Megan will be around... now to convince Joel and Carrissa to come, and maybe Bekah. That would cover the groupies :) So super fun with my closest friends and that is the best way to celebrate. I do wish Suz was here for it too.
THEN... oh you know there is more.... decorating for Christmas, getting my bed back, and baking. Fudge, Breads, Cookies.... How to not be excited about that. Also, hoping one of the jobs I have applied for works out by then as well. Prayerfully right?!
THEN.... at the end of December two friends are getting married-- to each other-- so it is an exciting time for them... and THEN....
HA! The Bockhahn New Year's Extravaganza! Like the group reunites again with a guarantee from Jason and Megan.... and maybe Heather and Aaron and Genissa and Ricky... and ring in the New Year with all the College and Young Professionals at Oak Park, and probably the half the church to be exact.
But yes, the importance of December is what we most often put aside because of the commercials... remembering Jesus' birth and the importance of that. Without Him we would have no hope! The birth of Jesus was the beginning of miracles, and certainly has not been the last!
Prayer Requests:
Close friend who is just being hit with a trial in her marriage. Praying for both the cople as a whole and the individuals for healing, God's grace, and restoration and reconciliation. Pray for peace and love to surround them both as well.
Pray for another friend who has slipped away and really lost joy.
Pray for my family
Pray for me in my finances, jobs, and situated. My paperwork with the Property Management to go through... and may the month of December be better than the month of November with good coming my way or at least the lack of bad things coming my way ;) Also for peace and contentment as well.
November has had a couple exciting moments.... the celebration of a friend getting married with shower and party; My moving home; My being reminded I have amazing friends and church family, and my family who have been supportive and available. It is a blessing.
The not exciting moments: Conflict, my car (enough said), job hunt seeming so unsuccessful, discouraged, and well finances.
So, we shall see how the year finishes out. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but here for everything coming up!!
