Don't forget... Jesus is the Reason for the Season! Celebrate with friends and reJOYce!

December is my favorite time of the year! Christmas lights, Christmas Music, baking, parties, and time with friends.  I love the thoughts that go into gift giving, but I also don't like the commercialism that Christmas has become. The real reason of Christmas is something we neglect, because we get caught up in the rushes at Wally World (how I refer to Walmart), Best Buy, and the malls and forget that this is the time to serve others. To remember the blessings we have, and to share the Gospel. Jesus truly is the reason for the season. As I count my blessings and reflect on even today... I see God blessing me, and giving me Hope that He has plans for me, and He is going to provide for me.

Today, I got called in to cover a shift at work... hours that I did not expect to receive, so it is nice when they come my way.  I also turned in an application for the Chamber of Commerce in San Luis Obispo to work at the visitors' center and already talked to the Director and am looking to interview next week. This week I will be having a second interview with Heritage Oaks Bank... probably Wednesday.

The past few weeks I had begun praying for the roommates I left in San Diego, of my 4 month stint, that they would find a roommate, a girl that would be a good fit and in good timing. And that prayer was answered and she moved in December 1st. Talk about good timing. So I am seeing God providing and answering prayer.

So December holds alot of exciting things that I am stoked on: Drive-By Nativity Scene  at church (Oak Park Christian Church on Oak Park Blvd/Newport Ave. in Grover Beach) this weekend December 6-7th; Christmas Celebration at First Baptist Church in SLO this Sunday Night... I look forward to it all year :);  Disneyland with Amanda, Scott, Kristi, Kim, Brian, The Hudson family, and then others will be down there for Maddie's graduation from Hope; THEN...., the Oak Park Christian Church's College and Young Professionals Winter Ball; Then a roommie + who ever is down trip to Solvang to see it decorated for Christmas; THEN CHRISTMAS; I also have some friends getting married so prayer for them; and then the grand finale of 2008-- Bockhahn New Year's Extravaganza at Kristi's parents! Can we say an AMAZING month.

So take this time to spend with friends, enjoy it, bake alot, and remember Jesus puts all these things in our lives to remind us he is there, and to show us that HE is why we have Christmas at all hence CHRIST is the main part of the word.... it is NO COINCIDENCE!

Jesus is the reason for the season!!!! Share Jesus through your heart of giving and through the love you pour on others this season! Let's not get so tied up in the commercialism and the stress of finances that we take away from what is the foundation and build and strengthen our relationships of those around us. Let's not be the scrooge in the store, or be part of the rush and door busters.... 'cause in the end.... we don't need to.... because all that chaos doesn't change who God is!!!!
