Kohl's is coming in the Fall to replace the vacancy of where Mervyn's was, TJ Maxx and JC Penny are the proposed businesses to enter into the buildings left empty by the closures of Circuit City and Linens 'N Things. Also, One Way Boardshop has left the Irish Hills Plaza and is now residing in Madonna Plaza where Esteem was, as Esteem is just focusing on their store in Pismo Beach. Target is slotted to start developement on Los Osos Valley Road at the end of this year across from Irish Hills Plaza and will be part of the new plaza, Irish Hills West. Big things are happening, and yet the town will never lose it's feel. Gottchalks is leaving a big building with its closure next month, and Forever 21 has bought it and will be opening at the end of the summer or the beginning of fall. Apparently, the city's idea is to take away all the traffic that has been downtown and spread it out more through the city of SLO. Albertson's on Madonna and L.O.V.R (Los Osos Valley Rd.) closed back in early Spring and Spencer's opened in the same spot a month later. Big changes, but still the same town I have grown to love!!!

San Luis Obispo is in the Spotlight.. and deservingly so!
U.S. News just released a report last week I believe naming San Luis Obispo area as one of the top 10 places in the country to live. Number 8 on the list to be exact. The only place in California to be mentioned for that matter. It is a great place for sure, and I am very blessed to live here... even with all the proposed developement to come in the next year or two.
