Black Jesus and Opportunities Knocking

Got pulled over in the black Jesus parking lot!

Wow, that will get anyone's attention. Anyway... story time.... Tuesday afternoon I was on my way to a job interview in SLO.... and while I did leave a little early from my house... it was not enough time. From Los Osos Valley Rd. to California Blvd. they have destroyed the freeway pretty much-- apparently making it worse in the process of making it better (or at least that is what they tell ya). I have to be at this interview at 1:00pm. Anyway... I proceed and exit on California and head towards Foothill... (for those of you who know SLO you know exactly where I am...) and to the right at Campus Bottle is a SLOPD on motorcycle stakin' out the street.... so I slow down... and a few seconds after passing him he gets behind me... hmmmm.... I kinda wondered if that would happen. So knowing he is behind me and he is not flashing his lights at me I get in the right hand left turn lane (there are two left turn lanes to go to Foothill from California)... and this green Dodge Caravan turns but goes into the right lane more than cutting me off. The moment this happens... the cop flashes his lights at me.... really... I wait... because there is no where safe to turn until the corner of Santa Rosa/Hwy 1 and Foothill where the Mt. Zion Luthern Church is.... where black Jesus sits in the stained glass window. Now at this point I realize God has a sense of humor... I got pulled over into a church parking lot!!!!!! So he gets out, and my sunglasses are still on and ironically enough worship music is playing but not loud. The first thing he says after you know the "hey how's it going?" was about how well I handled being cut off by the mom on the go van. Gee thanks.... then we talked about my going 49 miles an hour in a 35. (I know many of you are buldging their eyes.... aren't you Miss Katie Brooks?!?!) Then I told him yeah and he asked where I was going and I told him a job interview so he asked me about that (Hmmm..... plesantries while I know you are going to give me a fatty ticket for this one). Then he asks for the big 3's-- license, insurance, and registration.... and as I am frantically searching my safe spot for my registration he takes notice to the absence of my front license plate. So I inform him in the middle of hidden underneath sunglasses tears that my plates were stolen last year and I only had the bolts to put one back... to the back of the car. So, he leave with 2 out of 3-- my license and insurance. Comes back and is like "Look, I am just gonna write you a fix it ticket for your plates. Slow down and be careful". And he let me know that any officer in any presinct in the county can sign off on it. HA! I knows people.... and anyways.... that was it. Granted, I was late for my interview... ironically was pulled over into a church parking lot, and was definitely called out on my speed racing.... and he was totally awesome. (This is the run down of the 10 minute incident).

Today I had 3 interviews. All went okay. The one with El Dorado Broadcasters would be freakin' awesome. But today on SLOjobs I saw a job I so want as a Communications Associate for Lifewater International. So please be praying about that as that would be absolutely amazing. Since I started pursuing my degree I wanted to always apply it and my passion to work for people and serving others for ministry... and it would be amazing to do that with a missions based organization who desires to bring basic resources... such as water to other countries who lack the resources to have the same. It would be amazing to work for them and being in the area. Prayerfully God will be working in that... and again... I know this is something Katie would be seeking as well. And praise God He has provided for her down south close to Donovan again. Answer to prayer there! But this is something that maybe has God written all over it. So that is my prayer request this whole paragraph for God to be working in the interviews I had.... make the distinction clear on the best opportunity to work out.
