Summer is really here! So what am I gonna do? I am going to Disneyland!! Well that's just part of it. So recap: My brother graduated from high school at the beginning of June, and it is just crazy to think.... that was me 7 years ago, and 1 year ago I graduated from Poly. My goals and dreams have changed-- or rather have matured-- and some old dreams have been revisited for consideration of making them happen. Crazy!
The season of some people in my life has ended, some new seasons have begun and that's pretty awesome. Through working and moving back home this last Winter.... well.... I have met some awesome people, and gotten to know others. I think the cool part is becoming friends with others in the church outside of like the 10 of us, and that has been a blessing. I also get to "borrow" babies and get my baby fix... thanks to the wonderful world of childcare and babysitting. In that, it has been a blessing to help them and do something for them that I also enjoy.
My thoughts on life right now: Do you ever walk into a room of people who you are not around as much as you used to be and feel like you can't come to them in the same way as you did before? Not in a good or bad way.... but the connection is different or like-- it is something nostalgic even. I feel it when I go into the Wesley House sometimes and when hanging out with Kevin and Richie and David-- of things that "were". It is interesting when how you view it is different, not necessarily a bad thing-- but different. Like my house. A year ago it was a place I was at all the time, but didn't have the same familiarity as my it does now being my house. Maybe it is the gloves come on or off and there is some loss of reservation. I guess it is hard to explain....
With this summer comes some excitement: Disneyland next weekend, A speedy trip to Napa, possibly serving at Camp Challenge... and one of the biggest excitements is seeing friends :) Suzanne is coming from Colorado and I am super excited, planning to go up and see Abbie, and have plans to hopefully have a Natalie reunion with both Momma Nat and Baby Nat. And also.... good times with roommates doing random things :) May and June are previewing this summer being full of Partylite Parties and Pampered Chef. My roommates are both consultants for each of the businesses and are recruiting even more. They are making an empire of the biz! And well... it's free food at a party, and it is also getting expensive trying to support them by buying plates or bowls or tea light candles. Maybe I should just host my own party so I can get the bowl I want ;). I will continue to be involved with Children's Ministry this summer-- and as I told Kristi take on responsibilites and not even know it (I am not a fan of pressuring titles).
Things to pray about: My brother... he needs direction and some kick in the butt in the motivation department. Prayer for my job situation and also continuing to pray for my health.... things are good as long as I avoid things that have given me a reaction-- oh and Benadryl is wonderful by the way! Instantaneous healing would be awesome, but I would take good management in a heart beat. Prayer for my roommate who is up in Napa for the summer caring for her Grandmother. Prayer for my friend Megan who is doing missionary training in Florida with the goal being for her to end up in Kenya (Lord willing). Prayer for my family just for God to be there and present.
I am good. Really. Stressed about usual financial stuff-- such is life but do look forward to taking Financial Peace in the Fall and learning how to be a steward with my money and also to stop stressing, because that would be nice. The past few weeks have been so busy with parties, church, babysitting, working, job hunting and being sociable. I love being busy, and can't wait for more of it. You tend to get in less trouble when you are too busy to twiddle your thumbs :)
