Double Whammy!

Over this past weekend my ear was starting to hurt... and it had a small bump on it, and I figured it was a pimple (oil can build anywhere right?). Then it started hurting a little more. I was coming back from Amy' s in A-town on Tuesday and it was throbbing a little bit so I put some ice on it.... and it actually made it hurt worse. Wednesday it still hurt and I had a headache. Okay..... hmmmm.... granted I haven't had whatever this is before. So, Wednesday night I go with Kim to her Party-Lite show being held at the church. So, I talk to one of my "other mom's" about it. So she looks at it and says I should get it looked at... well this started the church mom parade of Juanita (our Pastor's wife) and Cheryl also looking at it... then Kathleen looks at it... and I have a respecting fear of her enough to do what she says ;) I don't think she knows that. They all tell me the purple color oin the cartilage coming from the canal is not looking so good and it is hot (my ear). So, Thursday I break down and go to Urgent Care in AG. And well here is the conversation with the doctor:

Doctor: So, problems with the ear huh? Which ear?
Me: My right ear
Doctor: Okay, I will start by looking at your left ear and see what's all going on

(doctor proceeds to get the medical instrument to look inside my ear)

Doctor: So, wait... your right ear is the one bothering you?
Me: Yes....
Doctor: Hmm.. well looks like you have a small infection in your left ear

(Here I am thinking.... "are you serious????")

so next.... (Doctor looks in right ear....)

Doctor: Definitely infected in your right ear. Does it hurt? It definitely does feel warm from your ear down to your neck

(Duh..... I wouldn't be here if this was not the case)

Me: Yeah it hurts
Doctor: How long has this been going on?
Me: A few days or so
Doctor: You should have come in here sooner

(Were I to have insurance those chances are good I would have)

Anyway.... he then looks at my throat...

Doctor: Let me take a look at your throat... say "ah"
Me: Ahhhhhhhhhh
Doctor: Hmm... looks like you have an infection in your throat too. You are faling apart (he says with a smile)

He asked how old I was (all information he has in my chart), I tell him I am almost 25 and I have never had ear infections before.... let alone 2 at the same time. He asked if I have asthma, which I said yes. We talked about my heart condition and my exercise habits, and also talked about my history with Bronchitis and Pnemonia. Those things I have more than enough of experience with.

He put me on antibiotics (heavy duty stuff), and the side effects.... not pleasant. Nausea, cramping, gassy, dizziness, drowsiness, and my ears still feel like pins and needles are beating in them, and my throat does hurt and feel super dry. Definitely puts a damper on the job hunt or rather... a delay. Funny they always have my birth year wrong at the pharmacy. They have aged me by 3 years... :)

So prayer for a quick recovery and God's provision with the job situation. So there is my story about one small ear ache I thought to be a pimple.... :) Thanks Dotti, Juanita, Cheryl, and Kathleen for encouraging me to go to the Doctor... and Wilda. And thanks to my wonderful and awesome roommate who also told me to go.
